MAESTRI DEMOTED TO MINORS IN JAPAN
Italian right-hander Alessandro Maestri of the ORIX Buffaloes has been demoted to the Minors by the Japanese NPB club according to a report by GrandeSlam.net.
The decision was made after a disappointing relief appearance of Maestri on Thursday. Coming in with the score at 3-3 and a runner on base, he issued four hits, three runs and three walks in just 1 1/3 innings against the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. The Buffaloes eventually lost 3-9 and dropped to 10-12 on the season.
According to the report they hope that a stint with the farm team helps Maestri getting back his form of last year and at the 2013 World Baseball Classic.
